Today's weather is scorching hot, so I decided to have a meal at home. We ordered the three-item combo from Long Chang Restaurant: fried rice, steamed dumplings, and hot and sour soup. We chose beef fried rice today, and as always, it was fragrant and delicious. Every time I have to choose a flavor, I struggle between shredded pork fried rice, ham and shredded pork, ham and shrimp, and beef fried rice. 😂
We also ordered steamed dumplings today, which are lighter and less greasy. They go really well with the hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup comes in different sizes, and we got the smallest one. But you can see how big the pot of soup is when it arrives—it's packed in a double-layered bag and super heavy. That's the style of this restaurant: the fried rice is heavy, the dumplings are heavy (both the pan-fried and steamed ones), and the hot and sour soup is heavy. I have to give them credit for that. So at home, I just pour it directly into a pot to make it easier to eat and heat up (if needed). Initially, I even tried pouring it into a big bowl. I really didn't understand the world.
